What the F**k is Going On?!
Knowledge for Change Celebration
Friday, September 30th, 2022 | Carrollton Station, New Orleans, LA | 7-11pm
Flyer by Sarah "Slimm" Singh
It may feel like we're in the twilight zone these days, but the midterm elections are upon us!

So Jaclyn Tregle and I decided to throw a party about it. We know it can be pretty difficult (and time consuming) to find information on everything that shows up on our local ballots, so we would like to help. We have a wonderful team of volunteers accruing (unbiased) information about the different candidates and amendments that will be on the Nov [Orleans Parish] ballots. We'll have take home pamphlets available as well as a QR code with a link to that information.

We want to create a space where people can register to vote (thanks to the League of Women Voters of New Orleans for helping with this), ask each other questions, and maybe even brainstorm how to help community members without transportation get to the polls?

It's gonna be great.

But what's a party without live performances, art, food, booze, and a raffle?? We gotchu.

7 pm | Eat, drink, and be merry (cocktail hour)
8 pm | The Renée Gros Duo
8:45 pm | Poetry Reading by Soulflower
9 pm | Mia Borders
9:30 pm | Mikayla Braun & Friends
10:15 pm | Live performance by The Jamettes Dance Krewe
10:30 pm | Anna Moss & The Nightshades

Art for sale by Sarah Singh and Madison Roy, food by Frytastic, and a raffle full of local business (including Stein's, Wild Lotus Yoga, Mandy Epely Skin Studio, Wetlands Sake, Picnic Provisions & Whiskey, St. James Cheese Co. to name a few) donations to benefit the New Orleans Abortion Fund. NOAF provides financial and practical support to help people across the Gulf South access legal abortion care. They currently have agreements with 44 clinics in 16 states and the District of Columbia. In 2021, NOAF pledged a total of $568,412.81 towards the cost of abortion care as well as practical support including childcare, food, transportation, and lodging.
