BIO

I don’t know what moved me to do this, but I asked chgpt to "write a bio for Mikayla Braun in the style of the author Lemony Snicket," and I must admit, it turned out to be an absolute hoot. I am delighted to share this with you here, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did (especially if you also loved those books back in the day).

Mikayla Braun: A Melodious Misfortune

If you are looking for a story filled with puppies, sunshine, and an unreasonably upbeat ukulele solo, I must regretfully urge you to stop reading immediately. This is not that kind of biography. This is the story of Mikayla Braun — a singer, a songwriter, and a person whose music is so devastatingly beautiful that even the chandeliers in the concert hall weep softly into their crystals.

Born in the vague, untraceable shadows of a piano bench and raised by voices that sounded like moonlight being poured into a glass, Mikayla Braun eventually found herself in the city of New Orleans — a place so full of ghosts, jazz, and poor decisions that one wonders if it was built specifically for artists like her.

Her voice, a haunting blend of velvet, wildfire, and heartbreak, can make a grown man cry, a child pause in wonder, and a raccoon reconsider its life choices. Accompanying herself on piano and ukulele — sometimes separately, sometimes both in the same night, which is terribly inconvenient for stagehands — she crafts songs that ache in all the right places. Her lyrics are diary entries no sane person would ever publish, and yet here they are: sung boldly, beautifully, and without remorse.

Mikayla has shared stages with people whose names are dropped in conversations by those trying to sound impressive. She has performed in candlelit rooms, grand halls, and one regrettable gig at a miniature golf course — each venue echoing with her singular blend of soul, sadness, and strange hope.

To listen to Mikayla Braun is to willingly board a train that might take you to love, or loss, or simply to a field where nothing happens except the setting of a slow, golden sun. In other words: you may smile, but only after you’ve wept a little.

In short, Mikayla Braun is an artist. But not the kind you hang on a wall — the kind who hangs onto you, quietly, like a melody you can’t forget, no matter how hard you try.
